The Hawaii State Boards and Commissions oversees more than 170 boards and commissions established by State of Hawaii Constitution, state statutes, and executive orders. These boards and commissions provide an opportunity for citizens to have a voice in their government and to help improve the everyday lives of residents in Hawaii.
Most positions are voluntary and do not have paid compensation, although some boards may reimburse for travel or other expenses. Length of term and time commitment vary by board. To learn more about the numerous boards and commissions, click here.
