On Saturday, March 1st, from 9:00 to 11:00 AM, the Green Planet Infinity Society is teaming up with the Global Preservation Initiative for a beach cleanup at Bellows Air Force Base!
Afterward, we’ll be celebrating our hard work with a small potluck and, if you’re up for it, you can take a dip in the ocean!
This event is open to the entire ULS community, so grab your friends, bring some sunscreen, and help make a difference! Sign up here to join the fun:
Did you know?

- 100,000 marine animals die each year from getting tangled in ocean debris (and that’s just the ones we find!).
- Between 500,000 to 1,000,000 tons of abandoned fishing gear (a.k.a. ghost fishing equipment

) ends up in the ocean every year. - Our planet now has over 405 ‘Dead Zones’—areas in the ocean where marine life can’t survive due to pollution and habitat loss.
Let’s change that—together! Last year, we partnered with GPI for a cleanup at Sand Island, and in just one morning, 40+ volunteers collected nearly 600 lbs. of trash!
Let’s do it again, but bigger and better! Join us for a morning of giving back, good vibes, and great company.
See you there!
