Our own Jr. Bow Hawai’i filmmaker premieres Growing Up Local in Honolulu, and it is running for two weeks only at Consolidated Theatres Pearlridge and Consolidated Theatres Ward.
I just came from the premiere. This full-length feature is an all local cast and crew, shot entirely on location primarily in Waimānalo, but also in Pālolo, with music by Taimane.
If you believe that great movies can be made in Hawai’i, and if you want to see an example of that, and if you want to support James’ endeavor, please go see this movie.
It was very moving to watch the credits. At the end, you will see that James dedicated the film to Jim Harstad. I’m sure Jim would have given this labor of love two thumbs up.
