HECO Electric Bill Help for Eligible Residents, June 30 Deadline

Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
Residents who need help paying their electric bill can apply for assistance through the federal Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) until June 30, 2023. 
Eligible applicants include individuals with annual household incomes below 150% of the federal poverty level, with a few exemptions. See the flyer below for a list of documents required to apply. 

LIHEAP will provide a one-time payment through each of the following programs to eligible Hawaiian Electric Company (HECO) users: Energy Credit (EC) assists households who are not in crisis but need assistance with bill payments for the heating and cooling of their residence. Applications are accepted annually, June 1-30.

Energy Crisis Intervention (ECI) assists households in crisis whose service has been disconnected or received a disconnection notice. Applications are accepted year-round, but approvals each month are limited and fill quickly.
